    This is not the best in the manufacturing department, but will get the job done.

    I really like this! I have yet to use it as its a christmas present for my grandmother. She got me with a bug she planted in my stocking. It had scared me half to death! She was tickled pink that she had gotten me. 2 years later and I have not forgotten, and I plan on getting my revenge! Que malicious laughter!!!

    Fun for my 4 yr old grandson.

    Classic but slow

    This functions exactly as a jump scare box should. However the mechanism for the spider jump is slow and even if the box is opened quickly seems to telegraph itself.

    Really clever

    As you slide the box open nothing happens at first, and then suddenly the spider pops out. Very clever design to get it to pop out like that. The victims won’t see the spider coming and I got some good scares.

    White Elephant Gift

    I purchased this for our office White Elephant party and my boss was the first one to open it! I recommend painting the interior black, to enhance the surprise factor. Everyone had a good laugh and the gift was stolen a couple of times to be re-gifted. Very funny and very surprising every time.

    Returned because it was broken

    It’s not that I didn’t like it, but when I returned it because it was broken, I ended up paying for it twice. I received a replacement before they received the broken one, and for some reason, was charged again. It’s now showing that it was received, but I have not gotten a refund for the one I returned with a couple of other items soon after receiving them. It’s a cute prankster…and I thought it would be fun to try it out on my adult children, but paying for something twice isn’t fun!

    Maybe it is being mean, but everyone gets a good laugh when this prank is played on them as you see people quickly jump back in fear as they see the spider hop towards them . LOL

    not worth the money

    not functional at all , the lid pulls the string but does not move the wooden block that moves the spider, it gets stuck , i had to move the wooded block by hand, eventually the string snapped, this is a stupid design ,do not waste your $ on this,,, $7.50 down the drain,, I could had bought me a Latte and get more satisfaction 🙁

    Scared the kids at school

    I liked this because the kids cannot stay off of my desk. I left it on my desk, kids got snoopy opened it and scared the crap out of them. Meanwhile, I got a good laugh out of it.They dont get snoopy with things on my desk anymore.

    Love this but…

    My toddler was into spider, so I bought this for him. He was ecstatic when I gave this to him. Yes this is giftable and has good value for the money. But it’s not durable enough, the thread used to attach the spider was of very low quality and easily breaks! It would would have been better if the material used doesn’t break easily.

    Poor construction

    It’s a white elephant gift. So can’t expect much but the construction isn’t great. Slides sloppy and string is too long. So you see the spider before it starts to pop out.

    Not built for young children

    This product was fun for the kids but fell apart after about an hour of use. Children admittedly were a little rough with it, but it should have stood up a little better. They did enjoy it for about an hour though

    Amazing item that everyone loves

    This item has provided so many hours of entertainment. I don’t know why but every kid that has played with this absolutely loves it. It isn’t scary but I have heard a few screams.Box is decently sturdy. The lid can get stuck sometimes. A little extra sanding would have been nice. A gloss coat or stain would have made this item perfect (I know it would have upped the cost).

    Waste of money.

    I purchased this as a gag gift for someone and it was an EPIC FAIL. If you don’t pull the top open fast enough, you can see the spider easily. Wish I could get my money back.

    Good laugh

    I can’t complain to much I choose the cheaper one to order. It works for the most part but sometimes it’ll get stuck and I feel like the spider should pop out soon then it actually does. But it still gave me a good laugh watching peoples reactions when opening it.

    Not as described at all!

    They said in their description that it was quality, it was anything but! The knob was not on when I received it, the wood is the exact kind they said it wouldn’t be, and I had to glue the string and the knob onto the thing because the knob was not attached and the string came off after one use. Overall completely disappointing. Don’t buy from this one!

    The media could not be loaded.

     I was sadly disappointed with this product. Previous versions I’ve seen were much sturdier. I understand that paying under $10, I would likely not have a superior quality product. That being said, because this is assembled with string instead of wire or a rubber band, it is far too slow of an operation to get any tension to achieve the prank. I would recommend the creators use a better way to trigger the spider. Also, the box was very small. It was almost too tight of a fit to open correctly, as you can see in my video.

    Works great!!

    I was actually shocked this didn’t get crushed in the delivery process. I tried it out and it works great. I’m going to paint the inside of the box black so you can’t see the spider as you open it and decorated the outside because it’s plain wood. I can’t wait to gift it!

    Don’t buy this!!

    The media could not be loaded.

     The dollar tree could have sold something better than this.. for 14 dollars you too can receive a broken, defective product. (I took a risk, other reviews seem to have said the same. ) As you can see the wood on the side is missing so it does not properly slide. The spider doesn’t come out when you pull on it. disappointed, as this was going to be a silly joke for my little brother. Guess you could say this was a joke!
