    I am a speech-language pathologist and bought this for my students to use as a fidget toy and to spark conversations during therapy sessions. Almost every student picked this toy up and did not want to put it down. This is great for students with ADHD, Autism, and more.

    fascinating

    It is very interesting to play with. I previewed it before sending it to 7 yr old grandkid. Thankful the packaging is minimal and easy to open and re-close in a way that won’t be noticeable to the recipient. It is pretty and relatively well made, BUT it will not stand up to rough use. My grand is not rough with stuff but it won’t take much to destroy it. When I was trying it, very quickly I thought I would never get it back to original shape. A kid who is not patient and thoughtful will be frustrated fast. That’s the part where frustration will break the thing. If you set all of that aside, it is a really cool thing. For kids, don’t think you should start them off with multiple units. Not necessary.

    Best birthday present at the party

    Bought this for my 8 year old grandson because he loves manipulation toys. I was not sure how he’d like this one. When he opened it I showed him what it does. Wow! The other kids all wanted to play with it. Moms were taking pictures of the box to get one for their kids. After the party they went to the lodge pool next door. Mom just told me he spent the first 30 minutes at the pool playing with it. I’ll be getting him another for Christmas to join with this one.

    Different Finishes

    My son loves his Shashibo, so I ordered a couple more so that he could combine them. One thing we discovered was that the finishes are different depending on which pattern you buy. He has the Wings pattern, which is a matte finish. Ones like Chaos have a glossy finish. The way to determine this is by looking at the packaging on the first image for each pattern. If it just says “Shashibo” on the top of the packaging, the cube is matte. If it says “Artist Series”, it is a glossy finish. I’m not sure about the Holographic Series yet. My son likes the matte finish, so we returned the Artist Series cubes.

    Fun product, just expensive

    This is a very interesting toy and very captivating. My 8-year-old grandson has spent several hours playing with it. We have bought several other similar toys/gadgets from other companies that are also fun. The Shashibo is unique and works slightly differently than the others. It’s also twice as expensive. I’m sure we’re paying for the idea/patent on the product, versus what it takes to make it. I’m glad we bought it, but I gave it a four because it seems way overpriced.

    Such a good purchase

    This is such a good fidget toy. I got it for my nephew for Christmas and every time I go over and it is out I find myself playing with it. My sister said she plays with it all the time too. It is very durable, easy to use, makes alot of shapes, fairly easy to clean. It is well made and very entertaining. Great purchase

    Kids love them!

    Got these for the grandkids for Christmas and they loved them! Only problem was that one of the grandkids didn’t like the color I got (Ha! What can you do?). The kids spent lots of time working the Shasibo into different shapes and got pretty good at it. Seems very durable, but I imagine you can’t get too rough with it.

    Puzzle Lovers, is it worth your dollar?

    I have to start off by saying I am a huge Puzzle Lover and a (Rubik’s) Cuber. From riddles, illusions and physical puzzles, I am addicted to all things puzzles.I have a ton of physical puzzles like Puzzling Obscurities and Rubik’s Cubes. This puzzle serves as a very easy and laid back coffee table like puzzle. Very easy to solve and make shapes, magnetics are so tactile and pleasing to the touch, and makes for a very passive puzzle experience. The cube is plastic shapes held together with decorative strong stickers. The magnets are there to hold shapes and combine more than one cube together.The instructions says if it doesn’t feel right it isn’t right when shaping the Shashibo. Here the fact about the Shashibo’s different shapes, there is just very few and the rest in between are just floppy in between messes less satisfying or useable. I put it at a level 6/10 for difficulty.Shashibo has 4 separately decorated side that will always face a particular direction in different configurations. Basically, if the cube is red as the smallest cube configurations and also has yellow, blue and green; well, the cube will always be red in that configurations and cannot simply be twisted around and closed back up with a different color. The different configurations will always have the same decorative sides in their exact same place.So buying one is a waste of money. $25 and can form the same 4 basic major shapes (the other shapes are rather useless and unsatisfying). Buy 2, 3 or 4+ and that’s where this product shines. 2 Shashibos have a couple of combinations that are rather satisfying, 3 and you can cleverly hide a cube within the others in a couple of shapes, 4+ and now we are taking. The 4 cube set seem to be the sweet spot in your purchase. The most satisfying use of this product for your money and you save just a little bit from individual purchases. If you buy 1 it is a dull and short experience with Shashibo. You need more or you’re going to immediately want more. Save you money and go straight for 4. 1 Shashibo has a bigger diminishing return than just buying 4. Combining these cubes is where all the magic is at for this product.A standard sized Rubik’s Cube will fit inside 1 Shashibo cube for those who are curious.In the end, it is a fun and relaxing product that I would say has a coffee table fidget charm to it. I definitely say go straight to more than one for your first buy, and in my opinion 4 cubes is the sweet spot to get the most out of this product.

    So many possibilities!!

    This little cube has so many shapes behind it. I got it because I wanted to treat myself to something cool; that’s when I came across this thing. I read the reviews and decided to order it. I got it and couldn’t even figure out how to OPEN it at first but oh my goodness when I did, I couldn’t stop playing with it. It has little magnets in it to help guide you into a shape, and you never want to force it into a shape. You can turn it into a heart, a star, a shape that reminds me of stairs, and so so many more shapes. As for the cube shape it comes in, good luck getting that shape back after you mess around with it. Getting that cube shape back is as cool as finding a new shape. It currently sits on my dresser in a 3-D triangle shape and I play with it very often, it’s not exactly something you can get bored of. Definitely worth the buy!!

    My kids LOVE these!

    I bought this for my sons birthday not knowing whether or not he would like it. Turned out he LOVES it and now my younger son and step daughter want one too. They fight over it. I plan on buying 1 for myself as well as for the other 2 kids. We all love making different shapes out of it and trying to put it back into the cube shape.

    Great fidget toy for kids and teens!

    I bought this for my nephew after seeing my brother play with one. He absolutely loves it! Honestly everyone who plays with it loves it! It’s very entertaining and trying to figure out how to make different shapes keeps the user’s attention fairly well. My nephew is already asked for a few more for Christmas so he can combine them and make new different things!

    Mostly Awesome

    Messed with one at a friend’s house once and became quickly addicted and had to get one for myself. I don’t think I’m having the exact same experience with mine, though. Not sure if my friend’s did this, but it seems like not every piece is connecting at times, with some just sort of dangling there as I’m fidgeting, them not really clicking together with other sides. It can be a little annoying at those times when I’m playing with it, but still, its mostly an addictive, stimulating item that I have no problem reaching for.

    The Item is Much Smaller Than Expected

    Bought for a gift and it initially appeared to be the miniature version of what I ordered. Went back on Amazon and read reviews that also stated much smaller than expected. The ad does show dimensions so I got what I ordered. However when the girl I gave the gift to opened it and started playing with it, I could see it was the perfect size to play with and manipulate it. She loved it. Another Upside: You’ll save on wrapping paper!
